Socialising and Networking
Meeting up and forging connections is the glue that keeps a community together, and LETS is no different. Members organise social events which enrich everyone and showcase people’s skills.
Everyone is involved
Anyone can organise an event and anything is possible: guided walks, foreign cookery events, gardening team, DIY team, cinema and gig nights, ceilidhs, etc. These can be advertised via the website offers, but the admin team could advertise your event on the news & events page if requested. Help with events or ideas for new events are welcome, including joint events with other organisations. Please contact the admin team email@example.com if you have suggestions or offers of help.
We run at least four social events annually in larger venues with a range of goods to swap, share or sell, ‘Bring and Share’ buffets, activities, therapy tasters, etc. Any member can book a stall with the events organiser, bring samples or photos, business cards, etc., so events enable socialising and boost trading possibilities. Non-members are very welcome. At one LETS event, an auction was held with goods ranging from an unusual deck of cards to a car! So you can really trade anything with LETS!
Annual General Meeting
The AGM is an opportunity to contribute to the running of LETS. We review the year, ask for helpers, then relax with good food, good company and sometimes a trading event afterwards.
LETS is what everyone makes it, so whether people are serving teas, welcoming people on the door or sharing their talents at an event, they’re helping LETS to build and grow.
We have several meetings per year to chat about ideas for running LETS. We advertise them on our news and events page, and members are very welcome to come along to join in. We’d like sociable and enjoyable meetings, so in January, we had a wee party for all helpers and event organisers, etc. with bubbly, gorgeous food and music later in the evening.
